Richardson began his baseball career as an All-District pitcher at Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas, and then continued at Rice University where he was the Owls’ number one pitcher for three years. Richardson signed a major league contract in 1993. Currently you can find Darrell either at the baseball academy giving a lesson or spending his time with his wife and four children. This summer Darrell will also be coaching an 18U summer team in the Lone Star league named the Baseball Academy Rays.
Darrell is still in the all-time top ten in wins, strikeouts, and complete games for the Rice.

This facility has batting cages and ideal for team practices, as well. Darrell will pitch live (no machines) to each of his students as he mentors them through the entire process.
Note: Darrell was a 1st team All American at Rice University, played MLB and coached at the University of Dallas for 5 years.

Darrell Richardson was one of those two pitchers from 1991 to 1993. His total strikeouts over those three years was 317.
